STORIES OF MAKING LIFE BETTER FOR KIDS WITH CANCER
"Hi Emberlyn, how are you today? What would you like to play?"
Emberlyn decides to color with ASK child life therapist, Katie. While it may look like they're just having fun, Katie uses play to make sure Emberlyn isn't thinking about her cancer treatment.
On Monday, March 28th, our patients will walk into the new Children's Pavilion at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU and through the doors of the new ASK clinic. There will be a bigger waiting room with more space to spread out, larger infusion and exam rooms, and even an icy pop machine for the families.
With your support, our patients will also find new toys to make them feel like a kid first, patient second. Please join us in putting together a clinic-warming basket filled with movies, games, and art supplies to deliver to the kids on their first day in the new space.
You can shop the clinic's Amazon wish list or make a donation to the welcome basket. We'll be sure to share pictures with you of our basket delivery and the big smiles you help to create. Thank you!
