Welcome Home Program

Picture
Our “Welcome Home” program is offered in partnership with the Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR).

We know that while your child is in treatment, all of your time and resources are focused on his/her care and things like home repairs can often fall to the wayside. We also know that some homes need to be modified or cleaned to meet the medical needs of a child in treatment. That’s where our “Welcome Home” program can step in and help.  Our goal is to take this stress off of you when your energy is focused on caring for your child.

Here’s how this program works:  If your child is on active treatment and your home fits the criteria below, we will consider your situation and help where we can.  The number of families we can help is based on the types of services needed and the availability of HBAR members to donate their time and talents.  Please see below:

Scenario 1 (You own your home):

  • You have a need to remediate mold or a substance that is affecting air quality for your child
  • You need accessibility help for your child’s condition
  • You do not have a way to heat or cool your home that is safe for your childYour heating, venting, and air conditioning needs service or replacement

Scenario 2 (You rent your home):

  • Your home needs a solid cleaning to prepare for your child’s arrival
  • Your child needs furniture
  • You need some clean and new family room furniture

Contact Amy Godkin, our Executive Director, to talk about how your family could benefit from the Welcome Home program.
